It's a word everyone knows and uses daily. But how does Ride fit in to our business and where exactly did it come from? Here’s the deal...
Ride owner and founder, Sharon J. Krieger, is a native Southern Californian. With an affinity for both the beach and the desert, she set off in a new direction in 1997 when she made an adventurous leap into the beautiful Arizona landscape. Yet, the love and reverence for the ocean will always be there and the name came to her at that very place – sitting on the sand, taking in the surfers at Laguna Niguel's Salt Creek Beach.
Those surfers in the waves of the peaceful early morning brought a flood of thoughts about just how much business, and life, can be related to those souls in the water negotiating their rides. Some were timid, waiting on the sand for that perfect moment to jump in; others took a little 3 footer and rode it for all it’s worth, making it look effortless.
The word "Ride" was a perfect fit – encompassing the spirituality of being one in that moment in the ocean on a wave, in business or in life. Taking an opportunity for all it’s worth, feeling that connection to it and surrendering yourself fully to the experience. Ride is about movement and action. It’s about going somewhere and how you will get there. The tide is never static, it is always changing.
